As part of the global sustainability growth journey, SEKO in the United Kingdom has recently been awarded Gold Status from EcoVadis.
EcoVadis provides a platform that enables organisations to measure progress towards their corporate sustainability goals, driving impact at scale by guiding performance levels in four areas: Environment, Labour and Human Rights, Ethics and Sustainable Procurement.
Achieving Gold Status places SEKO UK in the top 5% of companies globally and top 1% of logistics businesses.
Whilst this is an outstanding achievement for the UK business upon first application for the accreditation, the sustainability journey continues to be a core focus area alongside clients and suppliers to drive continuous improvement.
SEKO UK has also achieved accreditation for ISO9001, ISO 45001, ISO14001 and ISO27001 to ensure a systematic approach towards risk and compliance. It has also established a baseline for Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions for scope 1, 2 and 3 with measurement processes and target goals that are firmly established.
As a member of the BIFA Sustainable Logistics Policy Working Group, the company continues to establish best practices in the United Kingdom to tackle the decarbonisation of freight transportation.
“To achieve Gold accreditation with EcoVadis on our first application is testament to our team’s commitment to our sustainability goals”, comments Paul Lockwood, Managing Director UK&I at SEKO.
“We will continue to embed our sustainability commitment in our everyday actions with a focus on continuous improvement in partnership with our clients and suppliers”, he adds.
