SEKO CARES: DRIVING SUSTAINABLE LOGISTICS SOLUTIONS FOR A BETTER TOMORROW
At SEKO, we're committed to providing environmentally conscious, client-first solutions. Our reliable, tech-driven shipping services are designed to not only streamline supply chains but also reduce environmental impact.
In 2020, amid global challenges, we launched the SEKO Cares initiative with a vision to unite our global communities together in making a positive impact on the planet. By prioritizing sustainability in all that we do, we aim to support our clients, empower our people, and protect the environment for future generations.
After five years of deepening our understanding of SEKO’s most significant ESG impacts and the changing sustainability landscape, we have gained greater clarity on where we can make the most meaningful and measurable progress. As a result, we are reviewing our original commitments and refining our long-term ESG strategy to ensure our goals remain aligned with our values, operational realities, and accountability objectives.
OUR GOALS
CARRIERS
SEKO has achieved its goal of contracting 80% of business with third-party carriers that have established sustainability goals. Going forward, the company will focus on strengthening partnerships with carriers that demonstrate measurable ESG progress and credible carbon reduction strategies. By prioritizing suppliers with clear sustainability roadmaps, SEKO aims to drive greater alignment, accountability, and ESG maturity across its value chain.
INCLUSIVE LEADERSHIP
SEKO recognizes that diversity priorities vary across regions, making office-specific targets challenging and not always culturally appropriate. To create a more consistent global approach, SEKO is shifting its focus to strengthening the Women in Logistics Leadership (W.I.L.L.) program. By 2027, W.I.L.L. will be formalized across all SEKO-owned offices, with participation expanding to SEKO agents by 2028, advancing leadership development and opportunities for women throughout the global network.
LEADERSHIP & GOVERNANCE
The revised short-term goal places greater emphasis on equipping executives with ESG related leadership skills, with updated training scheduled for completion by 2027. Executive training on all key Environmental, Social, and Governance areas of focus by 2027.
ENVIRONMENT
Because customer-directed freight movements account for most of SEKO's emissions, our greatest opportunity is helping clients reduce theirs. We will continue providing robust emissions reporting, expanding access to credible low-carbon freight solutions, and identifying reduction opportunities across supply chains. While reducing our Scope 1 and 2 emissions, our Scope 3 strategy focuses on transparency, customer empowerment, and scalable lower-carbon transport solutions.

SEKO is pleased to announce the release of our 2024-2025 Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) report, which showcases our company’s accomplishments and goals in ESG initiatives from 2024 to 2025.
OUR SUSTAINABLE AVIATION FUEL (SAF) JOURNEY
An alternative to conventional jet fuel, SAF is produced from renewable materials and can significantly lower carbon emissions by up to 80%. At SEKO, we recognize the role we play in moving towards a more responsible logistics sector. We believe SAF will help propel us there.

Buyer Connected Inc. (BCI) is a certified Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) and African-American owned business. Through partnerships BCI has formed through local municipalities and non-profit organizations, BCI recruits, trains and retains individuals who deserve an opportunity, and SEKO is currently hiring based on this talent base.
SEKO Logistics has teamed up with Happy Returns to offer a brick-and-mortar alternative to mailed returns, helping its merchant clients reduce the environmental and financial cost of reverse logistics.
With over 150 offices in over 60 countries, SEKO has assembled a sustainability steering committee that comprises passionate individuals from some of our key operations around the world. The responsibility of the steering committee is to assist with driving global initiatives within their respective regions.
SEKO launched our newest employee resource group – Women In Logistics Leadership (W.I.L.L.). Employee Resource Groups such as W.I.L.L offer employees the opportunity to network, address common issues and concerns, and receive support from those who share similar backgrounds, experiences, or interests.
SEKO partnered with United Airlines in a historic agreement for the purchase of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), marking United Cargo's largest SAF acquisition to date. As a member of United’s Eco-Skies Alliance, SEKO is committed to advancing sustainable aviation practices and reducing carbon emissions in the logistics industry.
The Zero Emission Maritime Buyers Alliance (ZEMBA) is a non-profit buyers group within the maritime sector. It aims to accelerate commercial zero-emission shipping, enable economies of scale, and help cargo owners maximize emissions reduction.
