Client Advisory: Port of Baltimore Disruption – Updated June 12
WHAT’S THE LATEST
Update as of June 12: SEKO clients are now able to book shipments directly to the Port of Baltimore.
On June 10, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and U.S. Navy Supervisor of Salvage and Diving fully restored the Fort McHenry Federal Channel to its original 700-foot width and 50-foot depth for commercial maritime transit through the Port of Baltimore.
On May 20, Unified Command cleared a 400-foot-wide swath of the federal channel, permitting all pre-collapse, deep-draft commercial vessels transit of the Port of Baltimore. MSC, Maersk and Hapag-Lloyd have already announced commitments to bring services back to the port.
Unified Command continues to clear wreckage from the bottom of the Patapsco River, projecting to fully restore the Fort McHenry Federal Channel to its original 700-foot width and 50-foot depth by June 8-10.
