Senior Economists and Leading Trade Experts to Debate Impact of Brexit and ‘Trump Times’ for the UK Aerospace, Aviation, Defence and Security Industries
Senior economists will discuss the challenges and opportunities presented by changing times for the British aerospace, aviation, defence and security industries with the impact of Brexit and the new U.S. Administration at an international trade seminar at Farnborough, the home of UK aerospace, in May.
‘Navigating Global Trade in Turbulent Times’ is a half-day event that aims to give aerospace, aviation, defence and security professionals valuable insight into the changing business environment, focussing on innovation through intelligence, technology and compliance.
Topics and speakers will include:
- The Impacts of Brexit: Markus Kuger - Senior Economist, Dun & Bradstreet
- Opportunities in a Turbulent Market: Tom Woodham - Director, Consulting at PwC
- Priorities and Issues Facing the ADS Sectors: Jeegar Kakkad - Chief Economist & Policy Director, ADS Group
- Trump Times - The Impact on Global Trade Practitioners: Eric Johnson - Research Director and IT Editor, American Shipper
- Global Trade Compliance: Nick Boland - Director of Solutions Consulting EMEA, Amber Road
- Supply Chain Innovation through Technology (SaaS): Marc Gross - CCO SaaS
The event is organized by SEKO Logistics, which delivers supply chain solutions to global Aerospace & Aviation industry leaders, incorporating global aircraft manufacturing support, supplier management, government and defense services, and aviation logistics support for AOG shipments and parts for regular maintenance, repair and overhaul operations. Last year, SEKO opened a UK Aerospace & Aviation ‘Centre of Excellence’ at Cody Technology Park in Farnborough to support companies in the sector looking for the next level of shipping and software solutions to support global compliance, and provide business efficiencies and opportunities to remove cost from their supply chains.
Dean Townsend, Farnborough-based Director of SEKO Logistics, said: “The UK aerospace, aviation, defence and security industries are respected all over the world for the quality and capability of their products and services. However, there is a high level of uncertainty about what the future holds, particularly due to the changing political landscape in the UK and the U.S. It is clear that this will present fresh challenges but also a host of exciting new opportunities for companies that harness market intelligence, global trends, technical innovations and compliance insights to stay ahead. Our seminar will enable senior executives from these industries to hear first hand the thoughts of leading economists and trade experts to help shape their thinking. We believe there are great opportunities ahead.”
Navigating Global Trade in Turbulent Times’ takes place at the Aviator Hotel, Farnborough, on 18 May 2017.
