SEKO Cares Campaign Update: Ride25 This Week
Four years ago, a few SEKO executives led by our Chief Commercial Officer, Mark White, cycled from London to Paris for charity. SEKO Logistics is a founding sponsor of this charity initiative to raise funds for an orphanage in Uganda. This would become just the beginning of a 25 year journey to cycle from London all the way to Australia.
This year is now year 5, and the crew from SEKO that will be riding will again be led by Mark White, who will be joined by Chief Operating Officer for EMEA Keith O’Brien, our VP Business Development for EMEA and MD for SEKO Benelux, Bob van der Putten and rounding out the group with yours truly, VP Marketing, Brian Bourke. (You may have heard that I did not make the full trek last year, and this is true. I had to ride the ‘broom wagon’ for over half the ride, and look to avoid the same this year)
The ride starts this Thursday May 26th and we will bike 400 miles through Sunday evening from Rome to Bari, Italy (averaging 8,000 ft. in ascent per day). You can follow the progress of the team on social media via Twitter, Facebook or Instagram. Follow, like and share!
As in year’s past, we are going out to the global SEKO community to help support one of our many SEKO Cares Charities initiatives throughout the year. This is one of the few SEKO sponsored charities, and we really need your support. The funds go directly to 1 More Child, helping orphans in Uganda get the supplies, uniforms and other essentials these bright young students need to learn.
