SEKO Logistics Appoints New VP for Thriving U.S. Heavyweight Home Deliveries

SEKO Logistics has appointed Jim Mikrut as Vice President of its thriving U.S. Home Delivery Vertical business.

In 2015, SEKO saw its Heavyweight Home Delivery shipments in the U.S. grow 54% year-on-year and this momentum has continued in 2016 for heavyweight and oversized products such as furniture and big-screen TVs. Internet Retailer reported in August that U.S. e-commerce grew its fastest rate in two years in Q2 of 2016, growing at 15.8%. Many larger commodities are matching or exceeding this growth rate as consumers are increasing their demand for a growing number of goods online. In addition, SEKO’s Home Delivery services continue to benefit from the growth in its share of cross-border eCommerce business as U.S. consumers buy more products online, notably from companies in Hong Kong and China, the UK, Australia and New Zealand.

Jim Mikrut joins SEKO with over 18 years of experience in the Home Delivery sector, most recently as Vice President, Network Carrier/Customer Experience at MXD Group, responsible for its home delivery product development. He previously held roles that included responsibility for the strategic account management team in addition to business integration, customer service and order management.

SEKO’s Home Delivery services are managed within a closed-loop linehaul system that enables customers to schedule time-defined appointments online and enjoy the support of SEKO’s 24/7 Customer Service team. SEKO offers three service levels for Home Delivery, including White Glove which delivers products to the customers’ room of choice and includes unpacking and the removal of packaging materials.
